Villa Veth in the Netherlands by 123DV

This lovely modern residence is located in Hattem, The Netherlands and it’s called Villa Veth. It was created by 123DV with a design team consisting of Berry van Empel, Andrea Sollazzo and Robin Rook and it was completed in 2011. the house has a surface of 475 square meters on a 6000 square meter site.

The residence is located on a site hidden between the trees. In sits somewhere between forests and meadows and the landscape includes high, sandy dunes interspersed with heather, willow bushes and grasslands. The clients requested a residence that would allow them to come in contact with the nature and they really love the outdoors so the site is perfect for them.

The living areas of the house are oriented to the south in order to benefit from natural sunlight. There’s also a lovely terrace there. The living area features a glass walls that leads to the patio and attempts to minimize the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces. The large number of glass walls allows panoramic views towards the garden and the surrounding landscape. The residence has a very simple design but the visual impact is very strong. Even though it seems rather abstract and cold from the outside, the residence is actually very warm and inviting once you step inside. The furniture is mostly custom designed.
